Britton James

Mr. James serves as EVP of Land of Sitio. Mr. James joined Kimmeridge as Vice President of Land of its mineral and royalty interest business in December 2018 following a 12 year career in land management as part of teams covering the Bakken, Delaware Basin, Powder River Basin and several other basins throughout the United States, most recently as a Land Manager for Rockies Resources LLC from June 2018 until November 2018. Previously, Mr. James was an independent land consultant for multiple upstream companies from March 2018 until June 2018, and a Managing Partner, Vice President-Land and member of the Board of Directors for Clear Creek E&P, LLC from January 2017 until its sale in February 2018. Mr. James was also Land Manager for Arris Petroleum Corporation from May 2015 until its sale to PDC Energy, Inc. in December 2016, Senior Landman for American Eagle Energy Corporation from January 2012 until May 2015, and Senior Landman for Whiting Petroleum Corporation for over five years. Mr. James was also involved in Kimmeridge’s investment in 299 Resources LLC until its sale to PDC Energy. During his career, Mr. James advised on acquisitions/divestitures, grassroots leasing, managing drilling programs and all other facets of land management. In addition to his career in oil and gas, Mr. James served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the Colorado Army National Guard for six years. Mr. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Montana.
